Top Tips For a Successful Maternity Shoot

Capturing images of your bump is a very intimate experience and can come with some nerves, but fear not! I’m never going to judge you or make you do anything you aren’t totally comfortable with. It’s my job to make you feel relaxed and ready to enjoy this process. Here’s some tips to help you get the most of your session;

Number One:

Wear something that makes you feel pretty. It doesn’t matter what it is – a floaty dress, a bodycon dress, nothing at all or a pair of jeans and a simple tee – whatever makes you feel good will make for the best images.

Number Two:

Do some pinteresting! Have a look at maternity photoshoots and gather some ideas. What style speaks to you the most? Do you want a dramatic robe and bare belly? or are you more of a classic and natural type of gal? I can work with either and anything in between – just let me know ahead of time so I can help make your experience as enjoyable as possible.

Number Three:

Moral support – Bring someone with you who makes you comfortable, your partner, your other children, your mum or even your bestie. Whoever it may be, they are more than welcome to come along and join in!

Number Four:

It’s best to book your session for between 30 and 36 weeks. We want your bump to be nice and prominent but hopefully you won’t be in too much discomfort by this point (fingers crossed!).

Number Five:

Look after yourself! Make sure you get a good nights rest before your session (well, at least try), maybe treat yourself to a blowout or do you favourite makeup routine. We want you to be looking and feeling like your best self.
